 The Animal Welfare Society Humane Educator and a four legged friend visit the Children's Museum and Theatre of Maine on the third Saturday of each month at 10:30am!

June 2 (Sun) - Join us for the 4th Annual Invitational Art Auction at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. Bid on fine crafts at the silent auction and chat with the artists, beginning at 3pm. Live auction begins at 5pm with Kent Driscoll, auctioneer. Live music by Jara Goodrich of the PSO. Tickets are $20 in advance and include complimentary hors' du oeuvres and two glasses of wine. June 8 (Sat) - Join the AWS for "Dog Day" at the Seashore Trolley Musuem, 195 Log Cabin Road, Kennebunkport. The event is from 10 -3 and AWS volunteers will be stopping by with adoptable dogs!
June 15 (Sat) - The Animal Welfare Society Mobile Adoption Team will visit PetSmart at Biddeford Crossing with adoptable dogs from 11 - 1.
June 15 (Sat) - Join the AWS Humane Educator and a pet at the Children's Museum and Theatre of Maine on Free Street in Portland for a program on animal care and handling from 10:30 -11:30am.
June 24 (Mon) - Watch Megan with an adoptable AWS pet(s) on the Furr-ever Friends segement at 8:20am on Good Day Maine, Fox23.
July 8 & 15 (Mon - Fri) - Weekly Junior Workshops for kids 7-9 located at the shelter on Holland Road in West Kennebunk from 9am–4pm. These hands-on workshops focus on animal care & handling, as well as animal welfare-related issues. The students will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of pets, play games & create crafts. Workshops include snacks, an AWS t-shirt, field trips, certificate of completion and a lesson in compassion. Be sure to sign up early because spaces always fill quickly. $250 fee. July 20 (Sat) - Alfred Festival in downtown Alfred from 8am-2pm. Visit the AWS table, take home some handcrafted pet items and meet some available dogs!

July 20 (Sat) - Say hello to the AWS volunteers at the Annual Summer Bash Yard Sale from 9am to 2pm at Animal Medical Associates on Route 1 in Saco to support local shelters and rescues. Donations are being accepted at AMA after June 1, call Jocelyn at 282-5151.

August 3 & 4 (Sat & Sun) - Annual Antique Show at Kennebunk High School on Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-4. The AWS thanks Goosefare Antiques for allowing us to have a booth at the show and for the generous donation from a portion of the admissions revenue.

August 24 (Sat) - Society of Southern Maine Craftsman Craft Fair on the Green in Kennebunkport from 10-4. Have a Congdon's Donut or a Shield's hamburger at the AWS table, buy a raffle ticket or some AWS logo wear. All proceeds from the table benefit the shelter. Rain date Sunday, August 25.
September 8 (Sun) - Strut Your Mutt Walk at Mother's Beach, Kennebunk. Walkers Wanted! This scenic walk on the three Kennebunk Beaches raises money for the AWS Sadie Fund, a medical fund for animals in need. Registration begins at 10:00am and the walk starts at 11:00am.
September 13-15 (Fri-Sun) - PetSmart Charities® National Adoption Event at Biddeford Crossing. The Mobile Adoption Team will visit with adoptable dogs throughout the weekend. Feline Adoption Counselors will be available in the store on Thursdays: 5-7pm, Fridays: 9am- 7pm, Saturdays: Noon-5pm, and Sundays: Noon-5pm

October 19 (Sat) - The AWS and Behind the Scenes Charity team up for a Haunted Walk through the woods at the Animal Welfare Society, Holland Road, West Kennebunk. The folks at Behind the Scenes Charity take Halloween seriously so don't miss this spooky walk! All proceeds benefit the Animal Welfare Society. Guided Tours, Live Entertainment, Candy for the Little Spookers and More 6:30 - 8:30! $5.00 per person - admission for kids under 8 years old is free. This is an outdoor event, be sure to dress appropriately. Please leave your pets at home.
October 25 & 26 (Fri & Sat) - Dog Lovers Weekend at The Colony Hotel, Friday night Cocktail Party for hotel guests, cover charge for the public from 5 - 6 with raffle for AWS. On Saturday watch the AWS Mobile Adoption Team presents a Canine Fashion Show at 3pm.
November 5 (Tues) - It's become a tradition! The fabulous volunteers at the AWS will be baking up a storm for the Election Day Bakesale!
November 15-17 (Fri-Sun) -PetSmart Charities® National Adoption Event at Biddeford Crossing. The Mobile Adoption Team will visit with adoptable dogs throughout the weekend. December 7 (Sat) - Christmas Open House at the Animal Welfare Society on Holland Road in West Kennebunk from 12-3. Enjoy some holiday treats, have your pet's photo taken with Santa, do some holiday shopping and celebrate another amazing year with the staff and volunteers from AWS.
December 7 (Sat) - The Animal Welfare Society Elves will be handing out biscuits and collecting donations at the Christmas By The Sea Parade in Ogunquit. All donations gathered will benefit the shelter!
December 8 (Sun) – Put on your holiday best for you and your pooch and join AWS Adoptable Dogs in the Third Annual Pooch Parade in Kennebunkport leaving Consolidated School on School Street at 11
