"Raja"
I am one of the last Buxton dogs looking for a home. They call me Raja. A regal name for a dog from very humble beginnings. Raja loosely translated means monarch or royal. I do not need a kingdom, or even an estate to call home. A simple home with a loving family is all this middle aged American Bulldog needs. My friends at the shelter have kept me busy while I wait for my family to adopt me. I have gone to mobile adoption events, a fashion show and one of my favorite volunteers took me to obedience classes here at the shelter. Here I am in my graduate attire!! My new family will need to be patient with me. Older, gentle kids who can understand that I have had a rough childhood myself would be perfect in my new home. I have little experience living in a home environment, so please be patient as I experience things like tvs, furnace noise and even refrigerator noises. Because I have lived in a kennel environment for so long I will need a house training refresher. I know the basics, you and I will need to fine tune my scheduling. I am on the shy side, so it may take me a while to warm up to everyone, but it is worth the wait, I bond deeply with people close to me. I like to ride, just be careful for something else I like to do . . . drool. When I go out I have my personal towel. I do this when I am excited and happy. When you visit the shelter stop and see me. No bow or curtsey necessary.
