Endurance and True Spirit Necessary to Continue Mission

ÒYouÕre doing a great job!Ó ÒYou rock!Ó These are just a couple of the sentiments you hear time and time again throughout the day at The Animal Welfare Society especially since the puppy mill seizure took place on August 21st. There are so many wonderful people working day in and day out to make sure that this shelter doesnÕt skip a beatÉ that our own shelterÕs animalsÕ needs remain priority along with those that were unfortunate enough to have been housed at the Buxton facility. From cleaning kennels to answering phones, from feeding and administering medications to bathing, from transporting pups to the Emergency Clinic to transporting supplies, AWS staff and volunteers, whether here at AWS or at the Buxton site, work together toward a common goal: to provide the absolute best care for these needy animals. Executive Director Steve Jacobsen, who has been working non-stop since the day of the seizure by the way, is insistent that all involved take care of themselves and always takes time to give a pat on the back. Volunteers are now donning their new purple Disaster Response T-Shirts, yet this token of appreciation is obviously no match for the gratitude their consistent hard work evokes.
