Community Outreach
As a Humane Society we not only provide food, care and shelter for homeless animals but we also provide educational programs to our community. With the ever-increasing human and pet population in our world today, it is vital to spread the important messages of the Animal Welfare Society: the importance of spaying and neutering pets, of long-term commitment to a pet, kind animal treatment, and the link between domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and animal abuse. In conjunction with Prevent Violence York County, our shelter is working on the issues surrounding all forms of violence- for both humans and pets. The Animal Welfare Society has also established the PAWS program to discreetly assist clients who are in need. For more information about animal abuse and neglect, please click here
Programs: We offer a variety of education programs that fit the needs of the many people and groups in our community. Please click on the listing for more information.
