Dog Obedience

 Basic Obedience and Dog Behavior

Basic Obedience/Behavior Classes

AWS offers a 6-week course to teach you how to teach your dog. You will learn how to be the best Leader in your dog's "pack" using canine communication and behavior. By graduation you will have taught your dog to walk on a loose leash, sit, stay, heel down and come, plus much more!

You and your dog have the added benefit of learning in a class setting with a variety of equiptment and distractions, which helps emphasize socialization, concentration and confidence building

General Information

  • Class meets once a week for 6 weeks
  • The cost of the class is $95.00 or voucher price. Checks are payable to "AWS"
  • Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations
  • One primary instructor is required
  • Family members may observe. Children must be supervised.
  • Training collars or Gentle Leader head collars may be required

Retail Items Available at the Obedience Class

  • Gentle Leader head collars $18.00
  • Nylon leashes $ 7.00
  • Martingale collar $ 10.00

Class Content

  • One hour of in-class training time per week
  • Understanding of dog behavior
  • Learn how and what to train your dog
  • Realistic expectations
  • Proper leadership skills
  • Leadership always benefits the dog
  • Teach your dog self-control and responsibility with obedience exercises

Materials Needed for Class

  • Leash, 4-6 foot. Nylon or leather. No chains, ropes or retractable leads
  • Collar or Gentle Leader head collar
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn!!
